Rajasthani dry fruits- Kair-sangari

Kair,sangari and Kumathiya trees are found in Rajasthan

 'kair' are small round balls and botany name is Capparis decidua  .You might even say it is the cherry of Desert. It is the bitter fruit


Sangri - Besides Rajasthan Khejdi tree is found in many states of the country.The tree lined green pods called the Sangri, pods are 2-4 inches long and thin. Dry beans is called the Rajasthan resident 'sangari'


Kair - sangari sabzi is prepared with too much of oil and spices and is tasty in flavor.

"Kair ,kumatiya -sangari,
kachar bor matir.
teenu lokan nah mile,
tarse dev akheer."

"कैर,कुमटिया सांगरी,
काचर बोर मतीर |
तीनूं लोकां नह मिलै,

तरसै देव अखीर ||"
